Mike Mason - Nights

 Hi there! Thanks for stopping. Here's a little info about me:

It all began August 30, 1974 in Chicago. Yada yada yada, now I'm working weeknights at XLC. Oh wait...I skipped some stuff. Ok, here's the in between:

My parents moved out to Mt. Prospect when I was 7, so I thought it might be in my best interest if I tagged along. I was a rugged 'balla in Junior High (kickballer that is), until I tore my ACL sliding into home plate on asphalt. Or was it my MCL, hmm, I don't know...you pick. Anyway, the doctors said, "We can rebuild him," but suggested I switch to something less competitive. I picked up this thing called a 'Rubik's Cube' and began impressing friends and family alike with my ability to solve it in under ten minutes. Basically I just took the stickers off and rearranged them myself - clever, huh? I became fascinated with Game Shows, so I thought being a Game Show Host would be cool. After writing countless letters to Bob Barker for advice, he finally wrote back (well, his attorneys did) and suggested I immediately go another route. One day my parents surprised me with a really nice stereo system. I soon found myself playing "DJ", inviting friends to come over and be "on-air" with me. Although the wattage of my "station" was rather small, only reaching down the stairs to the kitchen, it did the trick. It was at that precise moment I knew I wanted to be on the radio. I'm VERY happy and excited to be here at XLC and thankful to everyone who supported me during this entire process.
